Why is a
custom made door important?
A custom fabricated
enclosure will ensure a proper fit, an easier installation and help prevent
leakage. Not to mention that you design the door you want based on the style
and metal/glass selection.
What type
of door(s) is available?
The style of doors
available depends on the opening size and the materials that were used in
fabricating your shower opening. We offer three basic types of enclosures
framed, semi-frameless & all glass. Each is offered in several styles based
on the opening size & configuration of your shower.
Your possibilities are
endless. With over 20 glass options and 16 different metal color choices you
can combine both to create an enclosure to compliment your bathroom décor.
Clear glass is the most
popular selection made today. It allows you to showcase your shower and creates
the illusion of a larger bath, allowing the eye to travel thru the glass into
the shower area. Clear glass works particularly well with the frameless and
all glass enclosures, giving the door more of a “frameless” appearance. A
wide variety of pattern glasses are also available to add a decorative touch
to the bathroom. Pattern glass will obscure your view into the shower hiding
soaps, shampoos, toys and build up.
All our doors are measured
and fabricated by experienced craftsman. A properly measured and fabricated
enclosure should install relatively easy, depending on the door style, difficulty
of the layout and design. While a single door or sliding tub enclosure will
be less difficult to install than a corner enclosure we still recommend using
an experienced installer. Doors installed by Wisconsin Shower Door come with
a 1-year warranty against leakage and 5 year warranty on parts.
The best way to keep
any shower door clean is to wipe it down after every use. This can be done
with a squeegee or a towel. In addition to wiping down the doors after each
use, once a week clean the glass and metal with a good glass cleaner. The
type of metal on the door will determine what cleaners are safe. On anodized
aluminum finishes, we recommend Comet Bathroom Cleaner and Glazers
Choice Cleaner. There is hope for doors that have been neglected and have
water and soap build up. A rubbing compound called Bruce's Glass Stain Remover
(GSR) takes care of tough stains. GSR removes water spots, shampoos and soap
scum off glass, aluminum, tile, porcelain, and chrome. Once the enclosure
has been thoroughly cleaned, Invisible Shield surface protectant should be
applied. It works well on glass, porcelain, ceramics, fiberglass, chrome,
stainless steel, Formica, marble, anodized aluminum, and other hard to maintain
surfaces throughout the home. Invisible Shield is long lasting, and repeated
use of the product will not discolor surfaces and will not crack, peel, or
build up. Proper cleaning of your shower door will extend the life of your
enclosure and make it the centerpiece of any bathroom.
